Building creative projects like an architect designs a home.

Once, I was an architect. For ten years, I designed homes, re-made mid-century structures, and re-purposed old industrial buildings into spaces for people to enjoy. And then I came down with a little bit of cancer (which turned my life upside down). Through sheer luck, I came through it. And then I thought: I’m going to do something different now. And so, I did.

I went to work in big creative agency land, building brands and companies with the same strategic skill set that I used to design structures. Look at the landscape. Decide how to stand out or fit in. Then make a thing that people care about - offer something to believe in, something that brings value to their life.

When big brands lacked the soul I was seeking, I ventured into film production and podcast land. I continued to look at the landscape, lead the creative process, drive clarity in creative expression. Connect story to brands and build community.

Now, with over twenty years creative experience, I’ve earned a diverse set of creative tools that I bring to diverse projects. Sometimes my creative expression is a beautifully planned process to make a thing. Sometimes, it’s a guiding brand platform that crystallizes the emotion and goals of a company. Sometimes, it’s a story or a messaging framework. I make graphic illustrations that distill complex ideas. I make short films and advertisements.

From films and production to brand creative and copy, I can make a thing start to finish, or I can add value at whatever phase of your project you need support in. I like to laugh hard and work smart. Let’s build something joyful together.

Personal pieces I’ve written.

I love connecting dots between varying topics. Here are a few pieces that I wrote, read, and designed artwork for. All featured on the 14+ year running outdoor podcast, The Dirtbag Diaries.
